Due September 29, 1997 in class. Do not be late to class since we
will be reviewing for Exam I which will be held the next night.
Run the following simulations in P-SPICE using the D1N4148 diode model.
Hand in all schematics, all output files, as well as the plots refereed to
below. Make sure that the plots have titles and properly labeled axes and
curves.
- Set the DC operating point to 0.7V. What is the diode current at this
voltage? What is the small signal
computed by P-SPICE? - Plot a measurement of current vs. voltage across the
diode using a DC sweep.
Sweep from 0V to about 0.8V. Hand in linear and
semilog plots.
- How does the curve in (2) change with Temperature. Hand in a plot
showing the currents for at least two different temperatures.
- Perform an AC transient analysis of the voltage doubler discussed in
class and shown in Figure 3.49 in the textbook. You are free to choose the
input voltage parameters (though you should use an ac input) as well as the
circuit values. How long does it take to converge to a solution?
Approximately, what is the final voltage? Can you justify this result in
terms of the inputs? Hand in a plot showing the transient solution.
