About Me

Hi there, I am Kittipat "Bot" Kampa, a CNEL alumnus. I received my PhD
from the University of Florida in fall of 2011. It was my great honor to work with my mentors, Dr. Jose Principe and Dr. K. Clint Slatton, during my PhD journey. Also, it had been a great fun to collaborate with my friends and colleagues at CNEL.

I am now a postdoctoral associate at University of Washington medical center. My responsibilities include applying machine learning and statistical model to brain network characterization and multi- voxel pattern analysis (MVPA) from functional MRI (fMRI) data.

My Research Interests

In general--Machine learning, statistical signal processing, computer vision
More specific--probabilistic graphical model, Bayesian networks (BNs), structure learning in BNs, structured Bayesian networks for unsupervised image segmentation

Research Goals

Probabilistic graphical model--structured Bayesian networks for unsupervised image segmentation, deformable Bayesian networks for data fusion.

Information theoretic learning--Surprise metric for outlier detection, closed-form expression for divergence between two mixture models.
