About Me Hi, My name is Ismail Uysal. I’ve been working with Dr. John G. Harris since Spring 2004. I work in NEB 444, Mind Machine Interaction Research Center. The picture to the right shows me, waiting for a shuttle in Istanbul, arguably the most beautiful city in the world !
My Research Interests My main research interest is speech processing. We’ve been working on Motorola funded, Bandwidth Extension Project (BWE) for the last 1.5 years with my friend Harsha Sathyendra who is also a member of CNEL. I also work on spike-based algorithms for noise robust speech recognition. This research also includes the study of our auditory system for better engineered systems. Finally, only very recently, I’ve started to investigate the potential of EEG signals when used for speech recognition.
