The Center for Brain Machine Interfaces invites all interested students to an intensive week exploring the science of brain machine interfaces with world renowned scientists, engineers, and industry experts. More information is coming soon.
The workshop will be held May 18-22, 2009, and is hosted by UF Departments of Electrical & Computer Engineering and Biomedical Engineering and Florida International University. The Brain Machine Interface workshop is funded by NSF Award No. 0650161, Partnerships for Innovation.
Participants may choose three tracks: electrodes/electronics, signal processing, or wireless. The workshop format includes morning lectures on theoretical concepts, and afternoon hands-on labs, all covering such topics as basic neurophysiology, signal processing low power electronics and wireless systems. The last day of the workshop is dedicated to business and entrepreneural issues such as prototype development, creating a business plan, and finding investors.
